I want to share a service that our studio has offered for many years but never really marketed to anyone outside of our client base.  Why you ask?  Well, that is a good question, one I have thought a lot about over the past few weeks.  A few reasons that I have come up with is that we were busy with portrait business and did not have the time, we only have so much marketing bandwidth and did not want to “clog up” our emails, social media and marketing collateral with another product line, it was very time-consuming, etc., etc., etc. The bottom line is that we have done this for existing clients but did not really pursue this outside of what came to us organically.

As March 2020 hit our studio, community, state, country, world many of us quickly realized that we were going to be out of work for a little while (hopefully just a little while) and I needed to come up with products that I could “sell” while social distancing.  Thank goodness I had a client reach out and ask about our picture curating services which motivated me to properly market and share our Gallery Wall Concierge services.

It is so rewarding to be able to reach out to my current clients and potential clients with a service that is still on brand for our studio, allows us to work even when we cannot see clients in person and allow us to create beautiful galleries of images to grace the interiors of their homes.  This service involves us collecting both digital files and printed pictures to be scanned and organizing them for our clients, then we use images of their wall space to design an installation blending their own images and usually some of our own or at least planting the seeds for future portrait sessions to fill some gaps.

This concierge service not only helps organize and archive our client’s visual memories, but it allows us to print and frame these priceless memories for them to display proudly in their homes.   It also gives us an open door to start communicating with them about our portrait services and how we can help them preserve all of their future precious moments.

We started out with a blog post and email drip campaign for this service and the first week booked 3 clients, the second week with some social media marketing booked 4 more.  This has been great news for us since we have been closed for over 6 weeks and our state has a stay in place order for 4 more.  But, the most important thing is that I have learned my lesson and that is to keep a product line or viable product in my mainstream marketing at all times.  Getting this up and running was extra work and definitely worth it, but it would have been so much easier if I had been making impressions with it all along.
